With reference to our letter of the 4th May, 1931

regarding the securities deposited with us on account

of the note issue of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking

Corporation in Hong Kong and the Straits Settlements,

I have the honour to report, for the information of the

Secretary of State, that we have released £353,000.

41 Conversion Loan Bonds 1940/44 to the Bank and have

received in exchange £165,000 4% Funding Loan Bonds 1960/90

and £215,000 India 6% Bonds 1935/1937.
